The VP Mobility team performs a full eligibility assessment once all documents are received.
Step 2: Preparing the Application (2-8 weeks)
The VPl Mobility team gathers the personal documents from the employee and prepares them in case specific processes are required (legalization, apostille and translations).
Step 3: Submit Application for Processing (1-6 months*)
The application is submitted to Portuguese authorities.

Step 4: Processing by Authorities (1-3 months)
This timeline can be expanded by authorities without any previous warnings.
Authorities can also require further documents on their own discretion.
Step 5: Travel to Portugal (up to 3 months)
Visas are usually valid for 120 days with double entrance.
Step 6: Residence Card appointment (3-8 months*)
Depending on the authority’s availability.
Step 7: Residence Card issuance (1-3 months)
Depending on authorities' availability.

* All documents, if not in Portuguese must be duly translated to Portuguese. English might be also accepted, depending on the Consulate/Embassy.
